Lizzo’s Production Company Cleared of Most Claims in Wardrobe Assistant Case
A US district judge dismissed the remaining claims against Lizzo’s production company Big Grrrl Big Touring Inc in the lawsuit brought by former wardrobe assistant Asha Daniels. The judge found no evidence of conduct by company employees showing general hostility toward women or disparate treatment, ruling the alleged incidents—though inappropriate—fell outside the protection of ordinary workplace tribulations. Daniels had alleged degradation, forced labor, denial of medical care, sexual and racial harassment; she also claimed a heavy clothes rack ran over her foot. In 2024 a separate ruling had allowed Daniels to sue the company but not Lizzo personally, a position that remains unchanged by this week’s decision, while Lizzo posted she’s relieved and will continue to fight every claim.
