Astronaut Frank Rubio has broken the NASA record for the longest single spaceflight by an American, spending over 355 days aboard the International Space Station. Rubio, a doctor and helicopter pilot, aims to reach 365 days, which he believes will be a significant milestone for the nation. The previous US record was set in 2022 by Mark Vande, while the world record is held by Russian cosmonaut Valeri Polyakov at 437 days. Rubio is scheduled to return to Earth on September 27, having spent a total of 371 days in space.
