A Lynnfield man, Ted Conrad, who had been on the run from the police for over 50 years, revealed his criminal past in a deathbed confession to his family before passing away in 2021. Conrad had robbed an Ohio bank of $215,000 in 1969 and had been living under a new identity in Massachusetts. His daughter, Ashley Randele, is now sharing his story on a podcast called "Smoke Screen: My Fugitive Dad." Conrad's motive for the robbery was to escape his previous life and start over.
