Woody Allen’s Madrid Film Secures €3M in Public Funds with Strict Creative Conditions
Woody Allen’s next film, set to begin shooting in Madrid on October 5, 2026, has secured approximately €3 million in public grants from the Madrid Regional Government and City Council. The funding is contingent on the film including 'Madrid' in its title, premiering at an international festival, and featuring at least 15% of scenes shot in recognizable city exteriors. While the cast and plot remain unannounced, the project is estimated to cost $11.4 million, with significant portions still to be raised through international sales and tax credits.
