Gaza teams recover 55 Malka family members from 2023 strike site
Gaza civil defence teams recovered the remains of 55 members of the Malka family from a building in the Zeitoun neighbourhood of Gaza City, nearly three years after it was struck by Israeli forces in November 2023. The recovery operation, which concluded on Saturday, involved manual digging due to a shortage of heavy machinery. A joint funeral for the victims is expected next weekend. This recovery is part of a broader effort to retrieve an estimated 10,000 to 14,000 people still buried under rubble across Gaza, where 82 percent of buildings have been destroyed or damaged.
