IndyCar blasts promoter over unfinished Markham track ahead of debut weekend
IndyCar issued a strong statement after the Markham, Ontario circuit wasn’t finished in time for opening practice, forcing practice and qualifying to be moved to Saturday with the race still set for Sunday. President J. Douglas Boles apologized to fans, thanked the city of Markham for their support, and expressed confidence the 12-turn, 2.1-mile venue will provide a fast, technical show once completed amid a late-season race stretch.
