
Patricia Tops College Football Pay Scale as OSU Announces Record Assistant Salaries
Ohio State defensive coordinator Matt Patricia signed a three-year deal that pays $3.75 million in 2026 (rising to $3.85 million in 2027 and 2028), making him the highest-paid coordinator in college football. OSU also disclosed new contracts for other assistants, including Arthur Smith at $1.5 million in 2026 and $2 million in 2027, and overall the Buckeyes’ 2026 coaching payroll will total about $15.3 million as the program expanded its staff.
