Queen Camilla Presents Roo Replica to NYPL, Rekindling Pooh’s Heritage
During her U.S. visit, Queen Camilla delivered a bespoke Roo replica to the New York Public Library for Winnie-the-Pooh, keeping the original Pooh dolls in a climate-controlled display. Roo, Pooh’s lost kangaroo friend, disappeared in the 1930s and the replica was crafted by Merrythought. The gesture promotes Camilla’s Queen’s Reading Room and commemorates the library’s long history with the Pooh characters, including their journey from Milne’s books to the NYPL and ongoing preservation efforts.
