Lions fan files $100M suit over Metcalf in-stands clash, targets media figures

A Detroit Lions fan, Ryan Kennedy, filed a $100 million civil lawsuit in Wayne County against Steelers wide receiver DK Metcalf for assault and against Chad Johnson, Shannon Sharpe, and Sharpe’s Shay Shay Media for defamation, plus Ford Field for security liability. The suit stems from a December incident in which Metcalf appeared to strike Kennedy during a game; Metcalf was suspended two games. Kennedy alleges Johnson and Sharpe on Nightcap falsely claimed Kennedy used a racial slur toward Metcalf, a claim Kennedy denies and seeks a full public retraction and correction of. The 9-count suit targets Metcalf, Johnson, Sharpe, and Sharpe’s media, with Ford Field listed for liability, and also seeks damages for reputational harm caused by media coverage."
