Birbiglia Directs Focus Features Comedy Old Friends New Friends With Starry Cast
Focus Features has greenlit Old Friends New Friends, a new comedy written and directed by Mike Birbiglia, marking his first feature in a decade. He will direct from his script and produce with Jacob Jaffke and Joe Hartwick for Oddball Entertainment. The ensemble cast includes Lucas Hedges, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Geraldine Viswanathan, and Dylan Gelula, around a premise where a tight-knit group of college friends reunites at a wedding to find the groom has built a new life with new friends, prompting reflections on growing up and growing apart.
