Minneapolis Public Schools' Personal Data Released by Hackers.

Minneapolis Public Schools confirmed that personal data, including payroll and health information, union grievances, civil rights investigations, and assault complaints, was released on the "dark web" after being accessed during a breach. The data goes back to 1995, and the district is offering free credit monitoring and identity protection services to potentially impacted individuals. Cybersecurity expert Ian Coldwater criticized the district's response and urged victims to be vigilant about identity theft. The group responsible for the breach demanded a $1 million ransom, but the district did not pay.
