Maine Students Give Democrats a Narrow Edge in 2026 Mock Election
Over 12,000 students in 115 Maine schools participated in a mock election on Tuesday, favoring Democrat Troy Jackson in the U.S. Senate race. Jackson secured 50.8% of the vote against incumbent Republican Susan Collins, who received 45.1%. Democrats also won the gubernatorial race and the 1st Congressional District, while Republicans won the 2nd Congressional District. The results mirror recent polling trends and highlight student engagement ahead of the November midterms.
