NASA and Axiom Space Unveil New Moon Spacesuits for Artemis Mission.
NASA and Axiom Space will reveal the prototype of the new Moon suit, called the Exploration Extravehicular Mobility Units (xEMU), which is a key technology required for the Artemis 3 mission. The reveal will take place at Space Center Houston and will include a demonstration of the prototype, followed by a Q&A session. Axiom Space signed a $228.5 million contract with NASA to design, build, and test the spacesuits in preparation for the mission. The Moon suit promises to be safe, flexible, comfortable, and capable of withstanding the extreme temperature variations expected at the lunar south pole.
