Gerwig's 'Narnia' Trailer Sparks Polarized Reactions Over Rock-Opera Vision

The first trailer for Greta Gerwig’s adaptation of 'Narnia: The Magician's Nephew' has arrived, featuring a modernized, rock-opera interpretation of C.S. Lewis’s classic. The clip, set to Led Zeppelin’s 'Stairway to Heaven,' showcases a psychedelic visual style and confirms Meryl Streep’s voice as Aslan. The film, which reimagines the story in 1950s Britain, is scheduled for a wide theatrical release on February 12, 2027, followed by a Netflix debut on April 2, 2027. While some fans praise the bold creative direction, others criticize the heavy reliance on CGI and the departure from traditional fantasy aesthetics.
