Patriots land A.J. Brown to fuel Maye era
The Patriots acquired A.J. Brown from the Eagles for a 2028 first-round pick and a 2027 fifth-rounder, pairing him with quarterback Drake Maye to give New England a premier outside receiver who can win vs. single coverage and open up the offense. Brown is expected to line up as an X with flexibility to move inside, complementing Romeo Doubs and a deep WR corps (Boutte, Hollins, Douglas, Williams, Chism III). The move should boost play-action and downfield opportunities while defenses counter with more two-high looks, potentially creating easier throws for inside targets and increased YAC opportunities as Maye develops.
