NHL Network ranks Thompson sixth, sparking debate over goalie hierarchy
NHL Network ranked Logan Thompson sixth among NHL goalies for the 2026-27 season, placing him behind Andrei Vasilevskiy, Connor Hellebuyck, Igor Shesterkin, Ilya Sorokin, and Jeremy Swayman. Despite finishing fourth in Vezina Trophy voting last season, Thompson’s ranking has drawn criticism from analysts and fans who argue his advanced metrics and consistency warrant a higher placement. The list highlights the dominance of the Metropolitan Division, with four of the top ten goalies hailing from that division.
