Luna, 10-year-old dog missing in Yellowstone for 34 days, safely captured and reunited with family
Luna, a 10-year-old Jack Russell terrier mix, was successfully captured on October 14 after surviving 34 days loose in Yellowstone National Park. The dog escaped her family’s cabin on September 10 when housekeeping staff inadvertently opened the door despite a 'do not disturb' sign. Volunteers from the Norris Ark Training and Recovery Center used a live trap baited with the family’s scent to capture her near Canyon Village. Luna was found alive but had lost approximately 10 pounds. Her owners flew in from California to reunite with her, and she is currently receiving veterinary care.
