EU Sets Two-Year Deadline for Caribbean Citizenship-by-Investment Programs or Face Visa Restrictions
The European Union is giving Antigua and Barbuda, Dominica, Grenada, Saint Kitts and Nevis, and Saint Lucia two years to end their citizenship-by-investment programs or risk losing visa-free travel to the Schengen area (29 countries). These programs are economically important for the Caribbean nations, offering passports with visa-free access to roughly 140 countries, with investment costs starting around $200,000. The leaders plan to discuss the issue with EU officials to determine next steps.
