Ryna Workman, the ousted non-binary president of the NYU Law School Bar Association, has defended their pro-Hamas comments, stating that speaking out against Israel is a matter of standing up for Palestinian human rights. Workman refused to change their statement that praised the recent Hamas attacks and was later seen covering up Israeli hostage posters with stickers advertising a school walkout. Despite facing public outcry, Workman reiterated their support for Hamas and refused to condemn the group. The next day, around 300 NYU students participated in a pro-Palestinian rally, including Workman. The rally attracted attention for anti-Semitic signage, and NYU is working to identify those responsible. Workman's comments led to the rescinding of a job offer from a law firm and calls for their removal as the president of the Student Bar Association.
