49ers Owner Jed York Suspended Six Games, Fined $500K for Ohio Arrest

San Francisco 49ers owner Jed York was suspended for six regular-season games and fined $500,000 by the NFL for violating its personal conduct policy. The penalty follows his August arrest in Ohio on suspicion of engaging in prostitution, for which he pleaded no contest to misdemeanor charges of disorderly conduct and possessing criminal tools. York has already missed the first three games of the season, which count toward his suspension, and is eligible to return after the Week 6 game on October 19. He issued a public apology, accepting full responsibility for his actions.

49ers Owner Jed York Pleads No Contest in Ohio Incident

San Francisco 49ers owner Jed York pleaded no contest to two charges—disorderly conduct and possessing criminal tools—stemming from an Ohio arrest in East Palestine. He was sentenced to one day in jail for each count (to be served concurrently), fined a total of $1,150, and ordered to complete an online course. York, 46, has long ties to Ohio, led the 49ers since 2008, became principal owner in 2024, and also holds stakes in Leeds United and Rangers via 49ers Enterprises.
