Ukrainian Drones Widen Strike on Russian Energy Infrastructure Overnight
Ukrainian drones struck multiple Russian energy targets overnight, hitting the Saratov oil refinery, the Lazarevo pumping station on the Surgut-Gorky-Polotsk pipeline, and a fuel depot in Matveyev Kurgan, with regional authorities reporting fires and injuries as Russia says it shot down around 216 drones. The attacks marked an escalation of strikes on energy infrastructure deep inside Russia, with activity also reported in Belgorod, Voronezh and Rostov regions. Separately, Ukraine and Russia disputed reports around a Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant incident, while the U.N. watchdog noted damage to a turbine building but normal radiation levels at the site.
