Las Vegas Raiders Bolster Tight End Position with Austin Hooper Signing

The Las Vegas Raiders have signed former Pro Bowl tight end Austin Hooper to a one-year deal worth up to $3.5 million. Hooper will join fellow free-agent addition O.J. Howard after the Raiders traded standout tight end Darren Waller to the New York Giants. Raiders Secure Former Texans Tight End O.J. Howard.

The Las Vegas Raiders have signed former Houston Texans tight end O.J. Howard to their team, following the departure of Darren Waller to the New York Giants. Howard, a former first-round pick of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, adds a veteran presence to the Raiders' tight ends room, which also includes Jesper Horsted and Cole Fotheringham. The Raiders may still look to the deep draft class to further strengthen the position.

Raiders add former first-round pick O.J. Howard to their roster.

Veteran tight end O.J. Howard is visiting the Raiders today. Howard spent his first five seasons with the Buccaneers before signing a one-year contract with the Bills a year ago, then getting cut by the Bills just before the start of the regular season. He then signed with the Texans and played in 13 games with 10 starts. Last year Howard had a career-low 10 catches, with 145 yards and two touchdowns.
