Solid-state EV batteries hit the road in North America for first real-world test
Stellantis and Factorial Energy have begun real-world road testing of FEST solid-state battery cells in a Dodge Charger Daytona development vehicle on North American roads, marking the first on-road use of this tech in the region. The FEST cells deliver about 375 Wh/kg energy density with over 600 cycles, enable ultra-fast charging (15%–90% in 18 minutes), and operate across a wide temperature range (-30°C to 45°C). The test integrates FEST into Stellantis’ STLA Large platform with updated control systems and pack design, signaling a major step toward commercialization of solid-state EV batteries.
