Oris has released a new special edition of its iconic Big Crown Pointer Date pilot watch, featuring a burgundy dial and a sustainably sourced deer hide strap from Cervo Volante. Priced at CHF 2,250, the 40mm stainless steel timepiece uses the Oris 754 automatic movement and is part of the brand's 'Change for the Better' sustainability initiative.
Oris expands its Big Crown Pointer Date line with a compact 29mm version (29x11.4mm stainless case, 35.5mm lug-to-lug) offered in black or rose-gold dial. It uses the Oris 534 movement (based on ETA 2671), 42-hour power reserve, 50m water resistance, and a sapphire caseback. Pricing is CHF 1,950 on strap or CHF 2,150 on a steel bracelet, and the watch is available now on leather or bracelet, targeting smaller wrists and women without sacrificing the model’s signature pointer-date aesthetics.
At Watches and Wonders 2026, several relatively affordable luxury watches stood out: NOMOS Tangente Neomatik 38 Update ($4,690); Oris Artelier Complication (~$2,900–$3,156); Sinn 308 Hunting Watch (€2,570 / about $3,000) in Sinn’s first appearance at the show; Norqain Freedom Chrono Enjoy Life Sprinkles ($6,150–$6,290); and Tudor Monarch ($5,875). Oris has collaborated with Disney's The Muppets to release a ProPilot X Calibre 400 "Kermit Edition" watch. The watch features a bright green dial and a frog inside the date window, with Kermit popping up once a month in place of the numeral "1" to make the first of the month. The watch is priced at CHF 4,400 and will be available in April 2023.
