Wade clashes with Forde over roster eligibility as LSU faces SEC media day
LSU basketball coach Will Wade faced a heated exchange with Sports Illustrated columnist Pat Forde during a virtual SEC media day appearance on October 13, 2026. The conflict centered on the status of recruit Marcio Santos, whom Wade claimed was not part of the team since July, contradicting earlier reports. Wade also addressed the uncertainty surrounding the eligibility of several international and transfer players, acknowledging that while he is confident in the current roster, he accepts full responsibility if the team fails to field a competitive squad.
