Gogel sidelined: PGA Tour Champions suspends player for six-month wagering infraction
Matt Gogel, a PGA Tour Champions veteran, was suspended six months (Aug. 23, 2026–Feb. 22, 2027) for violating the tour’s integrity program by placing bets on PGA Tour events he did not participate in; he says the wagers were small recreational bets and not on events he played. The penalty follows similar sanctions for past wagering infractions, with Gogel having 17 starts this season and nine events remaining as he sits No. 20 in the Charles Schwab Cup standings.
