Konami retro icons join Picross S on Nintendo Switch in the PICROSS S KONAMI ANTIQUES edition, launching April 30 for $17.99/€17.99/£16.19/¥1,800 with over 80 KONAMI titles converted into pixel-art puzzles across Picross, Mega Picross, Color Picross, Clip Picross, and Extra, plus a Time Attack mode.
Picross developer Jupiter has announced Picross S+, a new Switch game that will bring the content from the 3DS Picross e titles to the Switch eShop in 2024. The game will cost $4.99 and will include the puzzles from the first Picross e game, with players able to purchase DLC packs for the content from the other eight games. This release will also include the previously Japan-exclusive Picross e9. Jupiter had previously expressed a desire to preserve the puzzles from the delisted 3DS titles, and Picross S+ seems to be their solution.
Jupiter Corporation, the developer behind the Picross series, has expressed difficulties in collaborating with Nintendo for a project to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Picross in 2025. Jupiter's managing director, Norichika Meguro, stated that it has become "more difficult than ever" to work through Nintendo's approval process. While Nintendo owns the 'Picross' name, the puzzle game systems are Jupiter's property. Jupiter has developed and published all Picross games on the Switch without input from Nintendo.
