A new study using ESO's Very Large Telescope and ALMA reveals that the distant galaxy PJ0116-24, a Hyper Luminous Infrared Galaxy, has an organized rotating disk rather than chaotic gas movement, suggesting that galaxy mergers are not always necessary for such extreme star formation. This finding, facilitated by gravitational lensing, provides new insights into galaxy evolution.
