TSA Revives Pre-9/11 Gate Access for Trusted Travelers Without Tickets
The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has launched 'Gateside by TSA PreCheck,' allowing eligible trusted travelers without plane tickets to enter secure gate areas at 13 major US airports. This program, free for participants, requires advance online approval one to three days before the visit and permits reentries within the same calendar day. It marks a significant shift from the strict post-2001 security protocols that previously barred non-ticket holders from passing security checkpoints.
