Texas Coast Braces for Potential Tropical Cyclone 5
The Gulf disturbance formerly known as Invest 97L has been designated Potential Tropical Cyclone 5 by the National Hurricane Center and is forecast to move northwest toward the Texas coast, prompting a Tropical Storm Warning from Port Bolivar, TX to the Vermilion/Cameron Parish line in Louisiana. If it strengthens into a named storm, it would be Edouard. The main threat is heavy rainfall and flash flooding along Southeast Texas, with NOAA's Weather Prediction Center placing a Level 2/4 risk for much of the coast.
