Lubuntu 24.04 LTS Introduces Optional Wayland Session and Enhanced Installer

Lubuntu 24.04 LTS, the lightweight Ubuntu Linux spin with LXQt desktop, plans to introduce an optional Wayland session in its upcoming release in April. However, it is not expected to become the default until Lubuntu 24.10. The developers aim to transition Lubuntu completely to Qt6 and Wayland by Lubuntu 24.10 in autumn.
