China and India Race to Develop Quantum Satellite Technology for Secure Computing
China is planning to launch new quantum communications satellites that will be placed in higher orbits, allowing for a greater view of Earth and longer visibility to ground stations. These satellites will use quantum key distribution (QKD) technology to generate secret keys for encrypting and decrypting data. The new missions will face challenges in accurately transmitting quantum keys over much greater distances, requiring advancements in micro-vibration suppression technology. China's space quantum technology could also have breakthroughs in deep space exploration and space gravitational wave detection. Other countries, such as Europe, are also working on similar quantum satellite projects.
