"Promising Treatment Studies Offer Hope for Millions Suffering from Long Covid Symptoms, Including Brain Fog"
The National Institutes of Health (NIH) has launched several studies as part of its $1.15 billion RECOVER project to test potential treatments for long COVID, a condition that affects millions of people. The studies aim to address the lack of proven treatments and rigorous research in this area. The first two trials will investigate the effectiveness of Pfizer's antiviral drug Paxlovid in easing long COVID symptoms and explore treatments for cognitive problems such as brain fog. Two additional studies will focus on sleep problems and autonomic nervous system dysfunction. The trials will enroll adult participants and have the flexibility to add new potential therapies as needed.
