Egyptian FM to visit Turkey as ties improve
Turkey's Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu has announced that his Egyptian counterpart Sameh Shoukry will visit Turkey in the coming days, during which the two countries could announce the full restoration of diplomatic ties, which were severed in 2013. The two countries have been working towards reconciliation, with technical-level talks and a brief meeting between Erdogan and Sisi last year. Turkey has also been working towards reconciliation with other regional rivals, including Israel, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE. Additionally, Turkey seeks cooperation with Damascus against Syrian Kurdish groups and aims to ensure the return of Syrian refugees residing in Turkey.
