Crews responded to a water rescue at Cherry Creek State Park southeast of Denver after a person was reported missing in the reservoir. A child was reported missing and search teams used sonar and dive crews, and the child's body was later recovered from the water.
Rescuers have located five of seven people trapped for a week in a flooded cave in Laos; two remain missing as teams navigate narrow, water-filled passages amid persistent rains, with extraction still to come.
Maryland Governor Wes Moore stated that conditions are currently unsafe for rescue divers due to weather and debris following the collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore. The collapse occurred after a large cargo ship struck the bridge, causing eight construction workers to plummet into the water, with two rescued and two bodies recovered. The ship, en route to Sri Lanka from Baltimore, was carrying over 4,000 metal shipping containers, 56 of them with hazardous materials. Efforts are underway to ensure the safety of first responders and to open up a temporary restricted channel for vessel access around the collapse site.
