Haight Street’s Vintage Icon Closes With $9 Everything Sale
Held Over vintage, the oldest shop on Haight Street and the last empire outlet of Retro City Fashion, will close on May 30. On the final day, every item is $9, with live music by Anthony Arya; owner Cynthia Anderson says rising rents, aging, and her husband Werner Werwie’s 2024 death left her unable to continue, and stock will be moved to two Mission warehouses while the four employees are laid off, though the store’s name may live on in some capacity.
