Catherine, Princess of Wales, has launched a new initiative through the Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood to explore how nature supports children's social and emotional development. The Princess of Wales, Catherine, is focusing on her recovery from preventative chemotherapy for cancer and has not undertaken any public engagements this year. Prince Louis was caught on camera attempting to blow out his sister Princess Charlotte's candle during a Christmas Carol Service at Westminster Abbey. The mischievous five-year-old made his debut appearance at the "Together at Christmas" concert, dropping off letters for Father Christmas and singing carols alongside his siblings and parents. The event, supported by The Royal Foundation, honored those who work to support babies, young children, and families in the UK. Meghan Markle reportedly felt she had more of a right to speak than Kate Middleton at certain events because she considered herself a "self-made woman" and philanthropist, while Kate had married into the family as an unknown. Tensions between the two couples, known as the "Fab Four," were allegedly palpable during a Royal Foundation Forum in 2018. Meanwhile, backlash continues for Meghan and Prince Harry as they remain silent on racism claims made in Omid Scobie's book. Conservative MP Bob Seely plans to introduce a Titles Deprivation Bill that could strip the Sussexes of their titles. The Duke of Westminster, Hugh Grosvenor, has reportedly decided not to invite Harry and Meghan to his wedding to avoid drama.
The Princess of Wales visited health workers in Nuneaton to discuss a £50,000 NHS project she has funded through the Royal Foundation for Early Years Development, which is trialling a new model of assessing babies' wellbeing. During her visit, she doted on a baby girl, high-fived a young royal fan, and chatted with health workers who are being trained in the use of the Alarm Distress Baby Scale (ADBB) model. The ADBB model uses a range of indicators to help families and practitioners understand how babies express their feelings. If considered successful, it may be rolled out to more trusts across the UK.
