Overclocker Blames NVIDIA Connector Mandate for Delaying EVGA's Final Flagship GPU
Vince 'KINGPIN' Lucido revealed in his first video for the new Overclocking Kingpin YouTube channel that a dispute with NVIDIA over power connectors delayed the production of the EVGA RTX 3090 Ti KINGPIN. Lucido wanted dual 12VHPWR connectors for the high-end card, but NVIDIA insisted on a single connector, which he claims severely disrupted the timeline and limited production volume. The card eventually launched three months after the standard RTX 3090 Ti with dual connectors for $2,500, bundled with a 1600W power supply. This was the last flagship GPU to carry the KINGPIN name before EVGA exited the graphics card market in 2022. Lucido is now collaborating with ASUS, though no new KINGPIN-branded card has been confirmed.
