Fatal Tree Accident Claims Life in Boulder Creek Home
A rare storm with hurricane-force wind gusts hit the Santa Cruz Mountains, causing a tree to crash into a house and kill a 45-year-old resident, while another person inside managed to escape. Firefighters worked to rescue the trapped individual as trees fell on several houses in the area. The storm brought winds reaching 98 miles-per-hour and caused widespread damage, with crews still clearing debris from Highway 9.
