Navy Blue Angels pilot Scott Laux removed from team ahead of season finale
Maj. Scott Laux, a second-year member of the U.S. Navy Blue Angels, was dismissed from the flight demonstration squadron on November 3, 2026. The Chief of Naval Air Training (CNATRA) confirmed his removal, citing a failure to uphold team standards. Laux, identified as Blue Angel No. 6, did not participate in the squadron’s homecoming air show in Pensacola, Florida, which featured five jets instead of the usual six. The Navy has not disclosed the specific conduct that prompted the decision, though Laux had previously defended the team’s controversial low-altitude flyover over Pensacola Beach in July.
