Lawsuit filed against Ozempic and Mounjaro for severe gastrointestinal problems
A Louisiana woman has filed a lawsuit against Novo Nordisk and Eli Lilly, the makers of diabetes medications Ozempic and Mounjaro, claiming that she suffered severe gastrointestinal issues as a result of using the drugs. The lawsuit alleges that the companies failed to adequately warn of the risk of developing severe gastrointestinal events, including gastroparesis and gastroenteritis. The woman experienced symptoms such as severe vomiting, stomach pain, and teeth falling out due to excessive vomiting. Both medications list vomiting and abdominal pain as possible adverse events. The lawsuit seeks compensatory and punitive damages for the woman's injuries and medical expenses.
