"Pinpointing Tornadoes: Accurate Forecasting and Detailed Wind Gust Areas Revealed"
The Storm Prediction Center has issued a tornado forecast and severe wind gust forecast for southern Lower Michigan, including areas from the south side of Grand Rapids to St. Johns to Vassar. There is a 15 percent chance of isolated strong wind gusts in the Grand Rapids to Saginaw, Bay City, and Thumb areas. The forecast also mentions the possibility of isolated supercell thunderstorms producing tornadoes, large hail, and isolated wind gusts. Fine-tuning of the severe weather areas is expected by 2 p.m.
