Sox Rise, Skubal Shines, Phillies Rally, and Twin Bills Highlight MLB Friday

Tarik Skubal returned to Comerica Park with a quality start for the Dodgers in a 2-1 loss to Detroit. The Phillies pulled off another late win as Edmundo Sosa’s pinch-hit grand slam followed Wade Meckler’s defensive gem, giving Philadelphia a 5-3 victory and extending their wild-card status. Two doubleheaders are on the schedule today: Red Sox–Yankees and Diamondbacks–Giants; Max Fried returns in the nightcap for San Francisco’s game. The Yankees lead the wild card race by three games, while Arizona sits a half-game behind the Padres for the final NL spot, with Merrill Kelly and Mitch Bratt set to start for the Diamondbacks."
