FCC to retroactively ban disguised DJI gadgets, hitting Skyrover and Xtra
The FCC plans to use its retroactive authority to ban eight DJI front companies from importing, distributing, marketing, and selling their gadgets in the United States, a move that would wipe out products sold by Skyrover and Xtra (including the Osmo Pocket 3) once the ban takes effect; gadgets already purchased would be exempt, and the commission is opening a 30-day public comment period before any final action; the FCC also says it has temporarily deferred the grantee codes of these companies and is parting ways with SGS-CSTC Shenzhen as a testing lab amid questions about evidence of foreign-threat concerns.
