Federal indictment unseals $1.7M Hamas fundraising network linked to Louisiana brothers
Federal prosecutors unsealed an indictment alleging a multi-year scheme that funneled over $1.7 million to Hamas under the guise of humanitarian aid. Saleem Alzaq, a Hamas member in Gaza, is accused of coordinating the network, while two Louisiana brothers and a Florida man were arrested for soliciting donations via social media. The case was exposed after an undercover NYPD officer contacted Alzaq, who inadvertently revealed the identity of his U.S. co-conspirators.
