"Tragic Loss: Dozens Feared Drowned in Mediterranean Migrant Crossing"
Up to 60 migrants are feared to have drowned while crossing the Mediterranean from Libya to Italy or Malta, as reported by the charity rescue group SOS Mediterranee. The survivors, rescued in a weak condition, stated that their engine broke after three days, leaving them adrift without water and food for days. The central Mediterranean route is known as one of the deadliest migration routes, with almost 2,500 migrants dying or going missing last year.
