"Exploring the Enigmatic Flying Bat and Squid Nebulae"
The Flying Bat Nebula and Squid Nebula, located 2,000 light-years from Earth in our Milky Way Galaxy, are captured in a stunning photo taken by astrophotographer Ryan Génier. The Flying Bat Nebula is a massive cloud of hydrogen gas, while the Squid Nebula exhibits doubly ionized oxygen, possibly indicating a low-mass star nearing the end of its life. The Squid Nebula was first discovered in 2011 by French astrophotographer Nicolas Outters. Génier's photo, taken from his light-polluted backyard in Ontario, showcases the intricate details of these celestial objects.
