
Waerenskjold clinches fastest Tour de France stage in surprise long sprint
Soren Waerenskjold of Uno-X Mobility surged from 400m out to win the fastest-ever Tour de France stage on the 161.3km Vichy–Nevers route, ahead of Olav Kooij after Philipsen was relegated for moving in the sprint. Milan Fretin was promoted to the podium. The overall leader Pogacar remains 3 minutes 36 seconds ahead of Vingegaard, as the peloton topped a record-tying average speed of 50.9 km/h.
