Jonas Vingegaard stormed Stage 16 of the Giro d'Italia, attacking with about 10km to go and powering up a brutal 12% climb to finish 1:09 ahead of Felix Gall, with Jai Hindley two seconds back. The win pushed his overall lead to 4:03 over Gall as the final week looms, while breakaway efforts faded and his teammates delivered a flawless pull. Vingegaard celebrated by kissing a sticker of his family on his handlebars.
Anna van der Breggen (SD Worx-Protime) powered away on the brutal 3.7km Les Praeres finish (with gradients up to 27%) to win stage 6 of the Vuelta Femenina and move into the overall lead, finishing eight seconds clear of Paula Blasi with Marion Bunel third after Cedrine Kerbaol’s early attack on the climb was neutralized and the breakaway was swept up before the finish.
Isaac Del Toro (UAE Team Emirates-XRG) surged to victory on the Camerino climb in Tirreno-Adriatico Stage 6, extending his overall lead to 42 seconds over Giulio Pellizzari, with Matteo Jorgenson just 1 second further back in the GC. Tobias Halland Johannessen finished second on the stage and Pellizzari ended up fourth, as Del Toro capped two earlier runner-up finishes with a stage win. The updated GC sees Del Toro at the top, followed by Pellizzari and Jorgenson.
