NASA Probe Captures Stunning Footage of Sun's Explosive Outburst
NASA's Parker Solar Probe, equipped with a robust heat shield, successfully flew through and captured footage of a powerful coronal mass ejection (CME) from the sun. The CME, one of the most intense ever recorded, is a mass of super hot gas ejected into space. The probe's observations will help scientists better understand and forecast potentially destructive CMEs and other space weather phenomena, which can disrupt satellites, communication, navigation technologies, and power grids on Earth. The mission continues as the spacecraft approaches the sun at a speed of 430,000 mph.
